“Horse” may have been the first word I ever spoke. From a very young age I have been drawn to horses in every shape, size and color. It’s not just that I find them beautiful, it’s their heart and soul I bond with. This passion of mine has taken me to photograph wild horses in North Dakota and California, to wild horse sanctuaries, scaling mountains in Tyrol, Italy to photograph Haflingers at liberty, to Iceland and a chance to be amongst the special breed of Icelandic ponies, to Scotland sinking past my boots into bog to follow a band of horses, to Colorado and Utah to photograph western horses at work. With my background of sixty plus years in the saddle, I know how to anticipate and understand horse behavior and movements. It helps to put me in the right place at the right time. Waiting for light and background and movement to come together requires much patience and agility. Excitement builds and I often have to work hard to remain calm to keep my technique peaking under a steady hand.My home is surrounded by horse images from all over the world. My hope is that you too may enjoy these images for your home.
